SEA and Trees for Seaford are working to create green wildlife pathways in our town with:
The group will provide a friendly and supportive monthly forum as a springboard for action and ideas.
This project is part of Sussex Wildlife Trust’s campaign for a “Wilder Sussex” and encourages us all to make the most of our gardens and outdoor spaces, and work with our neighbours to create wildlife habitats and corridors.
Hedgerows are crucial habitats for wildlife. They also have a role to play, preventing soil loss, reducing pollution and regulating water supply, and absorbing greenhouse gases.
We want to work with our partners to plant and restore hedgerows.
Mini meadows are a fantastic alternative to mowed areas of grass. They are a rich habitat for wildlife, and can look beautiful too!
We are working to encourage more flowering plants in local green spaces, including grass verges.
Trees play a vital part in locking up carbon and balancing our extreme weather patterns.
Trees for Seaford works with the Seaford community and councils to plant and care for trees in Seaford.
To date they have planted over 1,400 trees in Seaford, including around 400 street trees and are planning many more!
