Package Free Moisturiser Recipe

Last Christmas my friend Gina made me a beautiful heart shaped moisturiser bar. I hadn’t seen this before and was surprised to find they are so easy to make. The moisturiser melts against your skin making it easy to use. There’s no packaging and no nasties! We made lots to give away when we launched Seaford Environmental Alliance.

Here is the recipe.

200g coconut oil
200g beeswax, cut into small pieces
200g cocoa butter or shea butter
A few drops essential oil

Have a silicon mould ready. I found one secondhand on a local selling page. You could use a dish and line it with greaseproof paper or use muffin cases in a muffin tin.

• Weigh the first three ingredients into a saucepan.
• Place over a low heat and stir to melt the ingredients.
• Add a few drops of essential oil.
• Pour into the mould and leave to set, ideally overnight.
